Social meeting with President & CEO of KOTRA, Dr. Pyung-oh Kwon, on February 13th.

Dr. Pyung-oh Kwon, President & CEO of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), visited Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN) to have a social meeting with Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, Chairman of KANKEIREN, on February 13th, 2020. KOTRA will administrate the Korean pavilion in 2020 World Expo Dubai and its theme will be "Mobility". Hopefully KOTRA would be in charge of Korean pavilion in 2025 World Expo Osaka-Kansai. Korea is now working on inviting World Expo to Busan on 2030.
Prime Minister of Estonia, Mr. Jüri Ratas visited Osaka, on February 13th

H. E. Mr. Jüri Ratas, Prime Minister of Estonia and delegates visited Osaka on February 13th, and were welcome by Mr. Hirofumi Yoshimura, Governor of Osaka Prefecture, Mr. Toru Takahashi, Vice-Mayor of Osaka City, Minoru Furukawa, Vice-Chairman of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, Chairman of Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN). Mr. Matsumoto ask Mr. Ratas to participate in 2025 World Expo Osaka-Kansai, and Mr. Ratas expressed that Estonia would like to be a part of it. Estonia is one of IT advanced countries, and most of their government processes can be done on-line. Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City showed their interest on Estonian system.
Dinner meeting with Mr. Yan Gao, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), on October 21st.

Kansai economic leaders had the dinner meeting with the delegation party of CCPIT including Chairperson, Mr. Yan Gao, on October 21st, 2019. From Japan side, 11 persons, including Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, Chairman of KANKEIREN, Mr. Hiroshi Ozaki, Chairman of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Hiroyuki Ikeda and Mr. Hiroyuki Fukano, Representative Directors of Kansai Keizai Doyukai, and Mr. Hisanori Kokuga, Japan China Economic Relations and Trade Centre, attended to the meeting. Mr. Matsumoto of KANKEIREN expressed strong motivation for sending the delegation from Kansai business world in July 2020. And Mr. Gao of CCPIT showed his welcome toward the upcoming visit.
Social meeting with President of Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, on September 10t

On September 10th, Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN) organized the social meeting with President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi under corporation of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kansai Keizai Doyukai (Kansai Association of Corporate Executives). From KANKEIREN, Mr. Mitsuhiro Mori, Vice Chairman of International Committee, attended to the meeting. Mr. Teiichi Nishimura, Vice Chairmen of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Hiroyuki Fukano, Representative Director of Kansai Keizai Doyukai, and Mr. Yasuhide Nakayama, a member of the House of Representatives, joined as well.
Kankeiren Business Delegation to China 2019

Kankeiren dispatched a delegation to Beijing and Chengdu, China from July 15 to 19, 2019. The delegation of twenty five persons was headed by Mr. Masayuki Matsushita, Vice Chairman of Kankeiren, and visited the government authorities and organizations promoting mutual exchange.
During this visit, Kankeiren and China-Japan Friendship Association held "The 5th Japan-China Assembly for Business persons" in Chengdu. About 110 business persons from both countries joined this meeting and exchanged their opinions on a topics: "Creation of new business".
G20 Osaka Summit's eve reception on June 27th

Kansai Promotion Council for the 2019 G20 Osaka Summit held the Eve reception on June 27th. Around 400 people participated in the reception, including Nguyen Xuan Phuc, prime minister of Vietnam, and ambassadors and consul generals of various countries as well as other persons concerned with international organizations such as WTO and IMF.
Mr. Yoshimura, the Mayor of Osaka City had a welcome speech, Mr. Kouno, the Foreign Minister of Japan delivered message, and Mr. Matsumoto, the Chairman of Kankeiren made a toast.
Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN) held the 1st General Meeting of "Asia Business Creation Platform (ABC Platform)" on April 5th.

Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN) held the 1st General Meeting of "Asia Business Creation Platform (ABC Platform)" on April 5th. The Presidents/Chairman and representatives of seven economic organizations* in Asian countries participated in the meeting. In addition, over 300 audience from mainly Japanese companies and Consulate Generals attended the general meeting. Seven representatives and Chairman of Kankeiren signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Establishing. Also participants both from Japan and other countries in Asia did tremendously inspiring presentations about the expectation for the platform. ABC Platform aims to create and expand business multi-laterally in 5 thematic working groups (TWGs)* and accelerate further economic development of Asia and Japan. Any companies and organizations of those countries are welcome to join the TWGs. The next General Meeting will be held in Singapore in 2020. . .
